Apteco Update Roundup

This page contains a roundup of the new features that were released by Apteco in their Quarter 2 2023 update. Please note, all video examples are shown in the Orbit Demo system by James Alty, Apteco CEO. 

Dashboards: Text variables as Dimensions

You can now use text variables as dimensions on dashboard tiles. When a text variable is used, ‘category display’ is now enabled automatically with a default setting of top 1000 and ‘omit zeros’ applied.  

This enables, for example, surnames to be shown on a chart.


Dashboards: Data Grids as Dashboard Tiles

With data grid dashboard tiles, you can now view and interact with your data in a tabular format, right from your dashboard. This powerful new functionality allows you to view multiple records on separate lines or a single record as a page view. 

If your data grid includes a unique reference variable, you can add manually chosen rows to the ser filter for the dashboard.


Expressions as Filters in Audiences and Dashboards

You can now harness the full power of Expressions by sing them into the definition of filters in both audiences and dashboards. 

Whether you are working with Audience selection or defining the various dashboard filters such as user filters, predefined filters, or the rile filters, expressions are now at your disposal to extend and refine your use of data. 


Audience Workbooks

As part of Apteco’s drive to bring more analytics into Orbit, they have re-engineered Orbit Audiences, laying the groundwork for more advanced analytics and visualisation features. Workbooks will offer a more flexible approach to the analysis with immersive full screen visualisations that are conveniently presented in a horizontal tab for easy navigation. 


Campaigns: Refresh Counts

You can now calculate and display gross and net audience segment counts on the audience panel of the journey builder. This allows you to see the effect of using different segments and the order of those segments on the fly without navigating away from the audience step. 


New Incremental Insight Measure

Your ability to identify the best behavioural features to use in a model is extended with the introduction of a new Incremental Insight metric. This single measure allows you to choose dimensions which are both predictive and diverse. It is based on the existing Insight PWE measure, but accounts for the associations between different dimensions. 

Territories Wizard Improvement

Campaign Preview

Preview is now available for campaign channels even when you are not in the edit mode. 

 This means that you can continue to preview output when working on a live campaign.
